Movie Review: Real Life Of A Super Model

Movie Review: Real Life Of A Super Model (2013)

Rating: 0.5/5

Review: Picture this. The beaches of Fiji. Five women in their itsy-bitsies, flashing plenty of ti**sy. A hotshot fashion photographer. And a coveted Super Model title up for grabs. One would think this is the ideal setting for a story sunwashed in sex and sin, with slow-mo shots of Baywatch babes lapping the lenses. Alas, it's not!

The otherwise fabulous Fiji looks anything but that. The fashion-photog is a bare-bodied bronze beach-boy who captures no part of your attention. The wannabe models in terrible two-pieces and blurred cleavages are pancaked and passionless. So, while the director went sunbathing, this is what happened on the runway.

Dev Walia (Chayya) assigns top fashion photographer Monty (Ashmit) to find a super model for his next calendar shoot. He selects a bunch of desperate damsels for a photo-shoot in Fiji (Viola! We soon realize it's a competition!). One of them is Rupali (Veena), fondly called Roops (should be Oops, really!). She bats her fake lashes and Monty quickly falls for her, while the rest of the Rosys, Monas, Bobbys are clueless in their cat fights; getting cozy on chandni nights.

There's an angle of whodunit (well, the whole point of the film is a mystery) and a brave attempt at humour with two characters called Taka Tak (WTF!). And of course, Jaggu dada ( Jackie Shroff) in a cameo, who starts narrating the story, but abandons it halfway (sightseeing, perhaps?).

The film reminds you of a popular voyeuristic television show, albeit a downgraded version. With trashy production values (There's a shot where a mike strapped to a model's back is visible. OMG!), a futile story, cheesy dialogues (Sample this shocker: 'Jai Bollywood kar do mera bhi luck good!') and catastrophic performances this one trips off the ramp long before the show starts.

Movie Review: Prague 3

 Movie Review: Prague (2013)

Rating: 2.5/5

Review: If you are the type who looks for reasons and answers in a story, Prague is not for you. It doesn't have an agenda, per se, nor is it easy to comprehend. It's free-floating, erratic, pensive and sombre, just like its protagonist's mind.

The mood is kept melancholic as the camera follows an architect (Chandan Roy Sanyal) who keeps wandering around, attending to his random thoughts. More than a conversation, his every dialogue is him thinking aloud. The dark, non-linear storytelling helps build a psychological tension throughout, making you feel as if you are being sucked into a black hole, with no way out. If you are patient enough to appreciate and observe the intricacies of Chandan's behaviour, Prague won't disappoint you.

What we particularly liked about the film was its layering. The film is structured beautifully. It's atmospheric, unique and manages to hold your attention with its abstract imagery. However, for the impatient ones, finding method in the lead character's madness could get painful, especially since the film is a tad confused and sluggish. A few lines could also offend women. What particularly made us cringe was a 'casual scene', where a guy asks a girl to pronounce the Hindi word for thigh.

Performances and cinematography are impressive. The Czech capital has been captured beautifully and so are romantic glances and flirtatious advances. Chandan Roy Sanyal is impactful and the very pleasant Elena Kazan makes her presence felt.

More than the city, Prague, the film, is about Chandan's psychological struggle, haunting past and inconsistent behaviour. It's not for everyone. However, if you prefer unconventional, mysterious drama over mainstream entertainment, Prague will engage you.

Movie MensXP's Movie Review: Warning

MensXP's Movie Review: Warning(2013)

Rating: 2/5

Review: They were seven and half (a baby, plus a dog) of them at the high seas. With their complex love stories, ex-affairs, phobias and fears. All trying to find an anchor, submerged neck-deep in water. Estranged school-friends reunite in Fiji (yet again) on a yatch, supposedly owned by Bakshi (Santosh), the one amongst them who seems to have lived life king-size. Jeanine (Suzana) is his hot-pot gal gal who makes a sexy bare-back entry.

Anshul (Varun), the dost with the most (size-wise) is also the most loved of 'em all. Sabina (Manjari), the school phataka-turned hot-momma joins with hubby (Jitin) and baby onboard. Aman (Sumit) is the rich spoilt brat who drifts without ambition. Gunjan (Madhurima) is the gutsy go-getter(with a hot- bod). The buddies set sail in calm waters, but soon their sweet soiree meets with a tumultuous turn.

They all throw 'warning to the wind' and dive in for a swim, but are unable to re-board because of one incautious move. The film embarks on an underwater adventure, but shows as much emotional undercurrent. The characters tide through their past tragedies and heart-breaks, even while sharks attack and their hopes sink in deep waters.

If you suffer from hydrophobia, be warned that this story won't keep you buoyant for long. The characters stay in water for most part and all the dramatic deluge happens deep down. The continuous sea shots do make you sea-sick, washing away your attention span. Some off-shore action would have kept the story afloat longer.

The 3D-effects kick in at the beginning, and come in spurts later, missing the real 'high tide' moments where it was much needed. There are some well-crafted underwater scenes and few moments which take you to the emotional deep-end. The performances (neck-above) are decent, but can't prevent turbulence at the story-level.

'Warning', heavily inspired from Hollywood film 'Open Water 2' with all its highs and lows is a new effort at a waterworld story, but fails to safely swim ashore even with a life-vest.

Meanwhile, Manish also wants viewers to watch the film if they like Elli in the show.

TV host and actor Manish Paul says he is watching Bigg Boss Saath 7 only because of contestant Elli Avram, his co-actor in his debut film Mickey Virus. He also feels that the actress has the support of Salman Khan, the host of the show.

So I think the most important is that people should watch the film," said Manish, who is playing the lead role of a hacker in the film.

Starring Rajkumar Yadav, Shahid is based on the true story of human rights activist and lawyer Shahid Azmi, who was killed in his office in 2010 by unidentified assailants.

"Yes, it is true that I have done a voice over in the film. It was an impulsive decision to record my voice so that the edit can happen smoothly. We tried some other voices for this role but mine somehow sounded the most menacing. So we decided to keep it," said Mehta.

The Good Road’s entry defames Gujarat

The Good Road’s entry defames Gujarat’

A section of Gujarati film fraternity has criticized the selection of 'The Good Road' as India's Oscar entry, saying it was done to "defame the state".

A protest was held on Tuesday against Mumbai based ad filmmaker Gyan Correa's film. The protesters claim the state is shown in bad light in the film through the portrayal of child prostitution. The National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) that funded the film is taking a lot of flak along with the Film Federation of India, which chose the film for Oscars.

Producer Abhilash Ghoda, spearheading the protest, said, "People are being misled about what Gujarat means. The Gujarat government has not even registered this film. The movie shows child prostitution on the highways of Kutch. This is a pure lie." Vinay Dave, writer and lyricist, said, "As a writer, I feel the language used in the film is horrible. Small children, especially girls, have been made to speak abusive language. I feel this is blasphemous. This is not a realistic film."

Director Deepak Antani asked, "How can the NFDC, a government organization that uses people's money, fund such a film? It is their duty to show the country in good light." He said the film's nomination does not promote Gujarati or Indian cinema.

Trophy Wife': Watch It or Skip It?

Trophy Wife': Watch It or Skip It?

They say the third time's a charm — even with marriages.

Malin Akerman stars in ABC's new comedy Trophy Wife as Kate the third wife of Bradley Whitford's character Pete. The pair falls in love after a karaoke mishap, and before she knows it Kate finds herself with three new stepchildren and two very different ex-wives (played by Marcia Gay Harden and Michaela Watkins). So is Trophy Wife one of this fall's small screen prizes? Get Zimbio editors Jill Slattery and Alicia Diaz Dennis' take on the first episode, then give the show your own grade below!

Jill's Take
I should have learned my lesson with Cougar Town, but I was sort of ready to write-off Trophy Wife based on the title alone. But it turns out the show is one of this year's best new comedies,  thanks in no small part to the fantastic cast, led by a luminously funny Malin Akerman. I had never really gotten the hype with Akerman, but she's dynamite in this as a former party girl who's trying to find her own place in this crazy new family. The parts of the pilot where she's forced to drink an entire water bottle filled with vodka and then suffer the consequences are some of the funniest scenes of the new fall season. Michaela Watkins is also great as Pete's new-agey second wife, and I got a kick out of their adopted son Bert (Albert Tsai). And here's hoping we get to see a lot more of the always great Natalie Morales as Kate's irresponsible BFF Meg.
Watch It or Skip It: Watch it.

Alicia's Take
Malin Akerman has been playing variations of the crazy, sexy party girl for years, but there's something markedly different about the character she plays on Trophy Wife: She's completely out of her element, and much more likeable for it. Akerman's character, Kate, is clearly not the sort of person who has ever had to fight for acceptance, but when she becomes third wife to Pete (Bradley Whitford), the bubbly blonde becomes desperate for approval from two very difficult camps: Ex-wives and teenagers. The show still has some explaining to do — How does a man like Pete ended up careening from a stiff type-A doctor to a Reiki enthusiast to a vodka-swilling party champion? — but with its brilliant cast, it promises to be one of the fall's strongest new comedies.

Elizabeth Hurley and Shane Warne facing the final over?

Are Elizabeth Hurley and Shane Warne facing the final over?

Liz & Shane ---- The unlikely match between an English rose and the bluff Aussie hero may have run its course, says William Langley.

Gloucestershire last week, Elizabeth Hurley was fixing the fence around her farmhouse. Was the idea, as the actress claimed, to keep the alpacas in? Or Shane Warne out?

The Aussie spin-wizard was on his way for what was billed as a crisis meeting about their relationship. Almost two years have passed since the couple became engaged, but there has been no sign of a wedding, and a series of strained communiques between the pair last week suggested it may be all over. The prospect of a split is likely to provoke mixed feelings among the couple's admirers.

Some fans of the redoubtable English beauty will take heart from her renewed availability, while the restoration of Warne to what he was before La Hurley got her hands on him has become close to a national campaign in Australia. The country's favourite fat cricketer from Upper Ferntree Gully had been shockingly transformed into a sleek, lip-glossed, eye-linered model of metrosexuality.

There was no doubt Down Under about who was to blame. "Waxwork Warnie! - Whipped Into Shape by Hurley" howled the headlines. But who was to blame? Liz denied all responsibility, and Warne claimed that rather than taking beauty tips from the face of Estee Lauder, his real inspiration had been his best mate's mum, who had introduced him to a new range of diet shakes. "I have always taken pride in my appearance," he huffed. "I'm proud of how I look, and I have worked my butt off to get here." The second part of this statement was a lot more convincing than the first. For despite the tragicomic meanderings of his life, 44-year-old Warne is a sportsman driven like few others.

There was something Napoleonic about his approach to cricket. Like the Emperor, he instinctively understood the delicate correlation between his own strengths and his opponents' weaknesses, and just as the young Bonaparte passed his days learning about angles and trajectories from the cannon-makers of Brienne, so the young Warne would spend countless hours in the nets of his beloved St Kilda Cricket Club in Melbourne, working on ways to make a ball defy the laws of physics.

Those who wondered what Shane and Elizabeth ever had in common overlooked the ambition, the perfectionism and the ill-defined sense of outsiderdom. Ms Hurley, 48, may be conveniently typecast as an English rose, but she feels foreign among us: "You see," she once told an interviewer, "in England, nobody is supposed to show that they work hard. It's like in college, where we used to always pretend that we weren't really doing our schoolwork.

One has to work secretly in England. You're not supposed to make an effort." Similarly, Warne, with his surfer-dude looks and air of delinquency, may have clicked beautifully with the average Aussie sports fan, but cricket's establishment never took him to heart. Oh, and there was the shared obsession with tweeting. Until he met Elizabeth, Shane's observations lacked a certain sophistication: "What's everyone's favourite meat pie?" he would ask.

"Does everyone floss before going to the dentist?" But things were about to change. The pair were first seen together at a Goodwood race meeting three years ago. Afterwards Elizabeth tweeted: "Hello, new Australian friend, how nice to have met you, and in such sexy surroundings." By the end of the year, they were discovered sharing an expensive London hotel suite. Both raced to explain that their marriages - his to teenage sweetheart Simone Callahan, hers to Indian textile tycoon Arun Nayar - had recently collapsed.

By the beginning of this month, the tone of the communications had darkened. "The more I know of man, the more I love my dog," wrote Elizabeth. Responding with a previously unsuspected profundity, Shane offered: "It's not what happens in your life, it's how you react to what life throws at you in good and bad times." On September 13 - the cricketer's birthday - the only tweet from Elizabeth was a disengaged: "One of my alpacas has escaped!"

A few days later she followed up with: "Apologies to loyal followers for Twitter silence on recent events. Too raw and personal to share right now." What has gone wrong? For all the calculation and exactitude Warne brought to the cricket pitch, he tends to blunder oaf-like around the field of human relationships. Once, while supposedly seeking a reconciliation with Simone, he sent her a text saying: "Hey beautiful, come straight round, the door's open."

His wife replied: "You loser. You sent that to the wrong woman." Born into a modest home in the Melbourne suburbs, Warne -Australia's wealthiest sportsman by far - has reliably failed to keep pace with his fame. For all her qualities, Elizabeth, the privately educated daughter of an Army officer, never quite looked like the right woman. Emerging into the national spotlight as the girlfriend of actor Hugh Grant, she has enjoyed an impressively long stint as a cosmetics model, made a number of mostly bad films and established herself as the go-to girl for event sponsors in need of instant glamour.

Four years ago, she announced plans to turn her Gloucestershire spread into a commercial powerhouse of organic produce, but the venture appears to have stalled. She has a notoriously low boredom threshold, and the word is that she has simply tired of Warne. He is addicted to the familiar, and the alternative word is that he wants to go back to Simone and their three children.

On Friday, as Warnie was descending on London, Elizabeth was heading to New York, conspicuously devoid of her sapphire engagement ring. It could be an interesting game.

Bollywood has no stories to tell: John Abraham

Bollywood has no stories to tell: John Abraham

John Abraham, who has been propagating off-beat and "sensible" films in a space full of masala entertainment, believes that Bollywood currently lacks "sensible" stories to tell.

"We lack stories. We have no stories to tell. We put five songs with five comedy scenes and say it's done," John told IANS in an interview.

That's one reason why the 40-year-old is loving and enjoying every bit of his new role as a film producer. Thanks to it, he is being able to serve the audience with eclectic movies - the entertaining "Vicky Donor" and the engaging "Madras Cafe".

"I love the role of a producer because I make the kind of films which I want to make. I make sensible films. I think 'Vicky Donor' and 'Madras Cafe' are examples enough about the cinema which I want to propagate," he said.

John, who has been in the film industry for a decade, is all for a healthy mix of genres at the box office.

"While we keep making formula films, as a producer and an actor, I want to say let's make sensible films which the audience will accept. I want to thank them for accepting a film like 'Madras Cafe'," he said of his movie, which focusses on the Sri Lankan civil war.

In fact, now John, a former supermodel, himself is open to the idea of producing a masala film.

"I'd love to produce a big masala film, and I will make sure that you are genuinely entertained by it," he said.

As an actor, he admits it has been "important to be a part of commercial films and to entertain people".

"At the end of the day, people want to laugh and enjoy. But if I am doing a 'Race 2', 'Housefull 2', 'Dostana 2' or a 'Welcome Back', it is important that I make sure that a 'Madras Cafe' is also made.

"John Abraham is known to do a mix of films. If I do a 'New York', I will do a 'Kabul Express' as well. It is important to balance it out," John added.

He says it's been fun to be a part of true blue Bollywood entertainers.

"I don't regret it. They are fun. I am not condescending towards them, but it is good to have a balance of both. I love slapstick comedy. The best case in point is 'Chennai Express'. I am sure I will enjoy it. But I feel it is interesting to make a 'Madras Cafe'," he said.

Irrespective of the genre, the story line is prime.

"I feel that only a good story line can get you respect. Commercial is a by-product, you will make money... but a good story line will get you respect," said John.

India's Oscar entry The Good Road producer thinks the film can make it to top-five

India's Oscar entry The Good Road producer thinks the film can make it to top-five

Producer-cinematographer Amitabh Singh is elated that his film The Good Road is India's official entry to Oscars next year and thinks that it stands a good chance to be in the top five.

"We couldn't believe this... It is a dream come true. It took a while for us to believe it. Winning a national award was a big achievement and now this second big achievement. I feel our film stands a good chance to make it to top five," Singh told PTI.

The Gujarati film directed by debutant director Gyan Correa is a lost-and-found story of a small boy. It won a national award for best Gujarati-language film this year.

The film was released in July this year in Gujarat.

The film is produced by National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), and stars Keval Katrodia as seven-year-old Aditya who loses his way in the desert of Kutch.

It also stars Sonali Kulkarni and actor Ajay Gehi as Aditya's parents.

"Making this film was challenge for us but with the result that we are getting now we are quite happy with it. We would definitely like the film to reach maximum people. It is the property of NFDC and they are the best people to propagate the film on other platforms," Singh said.

Russia love affair with Bollywood goes beyond Raj Kapoor

Russia's love affair with Bollywood goes beyond Raj Kapoor

In a surprise, apart from Raj Kapoor's movies like Awara and Shree 420, the films that are most popular in Russia are Hema Malini-starrer Sita aur Gita and Mithun's 1982 movie Disco Dancer.

Yesteryear Bollywood icon Raj Kapoor is a hot favourite in Russia but "disco dancer" Mithun Chakraborty is not far behind, as the country's love affair with Indian movies is still very much alive.

Bollywood continues to inspire and entertain many Russians and Raj Kapoor remains one of the biggest overseas names in Russia till date. A group of visiting Indian journalists experienced this in Tatarstan, a state under the Russian Federation.

"We love Indian films as they are mostly about love, relationships and emotions. When they fight, they fight, when they love, they love," Ayder Khasanov, Tatarstan's Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism official, said.

In a surprise, apart from Raj Kapoor's movies like Awara and Shree 420, the films that are most popular in Russia are Hema Malini-starrer Sita aur Gita and Mithun's 1982 movie Disco Dancer.

"When I was young my mother did not let me watch Indian movies as they were so emotional I would start crying," Khasanov said. "I loved Sita aur Gita, Disco Dancer and recently saw Shahrukh Khan's 'My name is Khan' which was fantastic," he said.

Russians have always loved Indian cinema and with the appearance of a satellite channel 'India TV', broadcasting Indian films and programmes dubbed in Russian language, the young people in the country have taken to movies big time.

"I love Indian films, Raj Kapoor was a fine actor. I have also seen Disco Dancer, the hero of that film is also good," Julia Karavaev, expert in the committee for tourism and foreign relations, said.

On visiting Kazan and the surrounding tourist areas in Tatarstan such as Bolgar, Elabuga and Sviyazhsk, the Indian journalists were surprised by the knowledge and enthusiasm the Tatar and Russian people had about Indian movies.

In Elabuga, Svetlana Andarzyanova, a tourist centre official, said "I am crazy about Indian movies, Raj Kapoor is my favourite, though I also like Disco Dancer Mithun." "All the Kapoors are wonderful actors and Ranbir is amazing," she said, adding that her favourite movies are Awara, Shree 420, Sita aur Gita and Disco Dancer.

In Sviyazhsk, an elderly man named Renat surprised journalists by saying that the 1952 classic Baiju Bawra was his favourite film. "I love Raj Kapoor, he was a natural, and I also like Amitabh Bachchan, he is cool," he said.

Raj Kapoor continues to remain a loved figure in Russia and one of the primary reason for this according to local residents is that after watching films like Awara and Shree 420, the actor became a symbol of optimism for the people.

"Tatar women love Indian films and serials, I love Indian films, Kareena is a lovely actress," Zulfiyan, a Tatar woman, said.

Miley Cyrus is reportedly dating producer Mike WiLL Made It.

Miley Cyrus is reportedly dating producer Mike WiLL Made It.

The controversial singer and the music insider - whose real name is Michael Williams - developed a connection while working on her comeback album 'Bangerz' and making her music video, 'We Can't Stop'.

A source told National Enquirer magazine: "Everyone knows they're hooking up. Mike is very protective of Miley ... Miley and Mike vibe off each other."

The rumour comes after Miley and Liam Hemsworth's representatives confirmed they had ended their engagement following months of speculation.

Liam and 'Mad Men' actress January Jones were said to have been 'sexting' amid reports the 'Hunger Games' hunk was unhappy with Miley's provocative new image and raunchy performances.

Another source commented: "Liam decided he wanted to be with January instead of Miley. Miley was left heartbroken and couldn't forgive Liam, so getting together with Mike is her form of revenge. She's messed up."

Mike is thought to have been a welcome distraction for Miley during the breakdown of her relationship, with the producer regularly sharing flirty snaps of the 'Wrecking Ball' singer on Instagram.

In June, he posted a snapshot of Miley posing with his chain necklace, alongside as the caption, "Got the hottest chick in the game wearing my chain."

NCW asks for a stay order on Grand Masti

NCW asks for a stay order on 'Grand Masti'
Riteish Deshmukh , Aftab Shivdasani and Vivek The stay has been demanded over the obscene scenes and double entendre dialogues that movie contains. Explaining the issue further Chairperson NCW (National Commission of Women) Mamta Sharma says, "We have sent the letter both to the I&B ministry and censor board demanding the stay on movie Grand Masti. I don't understand how can censor board clear the certification of movie. It is very clear from the promos of movie that the film is flooded with obscene scenes and double meaning dialogues. I believe such movies promote crime against women portraying them as an object of pleasure. In most cases of gang rape reported, the juveniles are found guilty involved in heinous act and movie has a bigger share in molding their mind as. We have requested the ministry and censor board both to take some stringent action so that filmmakers refrain from such projects, for a better society."

Indra Kumar, director of the movie though appeared unaware of the entire matter, "I don't have any clue about any such move by National Commission of Women." On being asked what will be their reaction is the movie is not allowed to release? "I don't know, will have to discuss the matter first. Movie doesn't contain any obscene or violence scene. It is just about the double meaning jokes that I think is very common, every person has such adult jokes in mobile, they have become part of our day to day conversation. I don't understand how any organization can have objection over double meaning dialogues atleast it is way better than rape or violence scene shown in the movies."

While the actress from the movie Kainaat Arora says, "What is so wrong in the movie that has made NCW to demand a stay! Movie doesn't have a single smooch or intimate scene. The double meaning jokes are only the base of the movie and I don't find any wrong in that. Rather movie contains a strong message to not get involve in extra marital affair outside if you have a good wife taking care of you and your family. And if you indulge in such practice it might leave you in trouble" she says.

a high, I feel like screaming from the rooftops. I loved Shuddh Desi Romance and I think you will too.

This film is a triumph for its director Maneesh Sharma, its actors Parineeti Chopra, Sushant Singh Rajput, Vaani Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor, but most of all for its writer Jaideep Sahni, who has done the story, screenplay, dialogue and lyrics. Jaideep gives us a love story that is at once utterly believable and utterly romantic; characters that we fall in love with from the first frame and dialogue that makes us smile even when situation is distinctly unfunny — like a groom abandoning his bride at the mandap.

There’s a lot of running away in this film. Shuddh Desi Romance is the very circuitous triangle between Gayatri, played by Parineeti, Raghu played by Sushant and Tara, played by Vaani. The first two are commitment-phobic lovers in the throes of a grand passion. Tara is the third leg but she’s no wilting wallflower either. She’s feisty, in control and goes after what she wants. The women in Shuddh Desi Romance are refreshingly strong but not strident. And in between is the irresistibly goofy Raghu, who is easily the most charming guide in Hindi movies since Dev Anand’s Raju in Guide.

Maneesh and Jaideep capture a slice of urban India that is stuck somewhere between modernity and tradition but the film works because it has a lightness of being. There is no sermonising here, just confusion, heartache and the inherent comedy of a society caught between the labels of love, lust, marriage, relationships. Sushant and Parineeti capture the nuances perfectly. There isn’t a false note between them and the chemistry is absolutely sizzling — watch their first awkward kiss in a moving bus — it’s equal parts sexy and funny. Debutant Vaani seamlessly fits in — her performance has ease, which is rare for a newcomer.

Aditi Rao Hydari in Hot bikini

Aditi Rao Hydari
Stop hoopla around my bikini, says Aditi Rao Hydari

Actually, the bikini is just another garment. I am sure every girl who swims has worn a bikini in a pool. You do wear a bikini in a pool, you don't wear a gown! I think the hoopla around a bikini should go away because that is a wrong way to look at it," said the 34-year-old.

"It's just a garment, a very beautiful garment. For a girl, to be happy with her body and her femininity is fine. In fact, I feel that everybody today should grow up and treat a bikini just as any other piece of clothing. I've been wearing a bikini since I was a kid, and I was very comfortable," she added.

Aditi admits she had to go through a rigorous fitness process to get a perfect bikini body.

"They (filmmakers) kept a very nice, closed set, they were very understanding. I worked out for five months and I was only thinking about when will it end and when will I be able to have a slice of pizza," Aditi said.

Directed by Anthony D'Souza, 'Boss' stars Akshay Kumar in the lead, while Shiv Pandit plays is paired with Aditi. The film will release on October 16.

The Stage Falls Hall of Fame

Gravity is the great equalizer, especially when you're performing on stage in front of thousands of screaming fans, and Carrie Underwood is the latest celeb to learn that lesson the hard way.

Underwood's was the victim of a different kind of wardrobe malfunction during her Thursday night performance in South Texas. The combination of walking backwards in stilettos and wearing a baggy cape-like shirt while trying to sing to thousands of people resulted in her ass meeting the stage floor.

She owned it though, tweeting, "Hey, remember that time in Corpus Christi when that girl busted her butt on stage?! Hilarious! Oh wait, that was me! #5inchneels #klutz."

Zanjeer Movie review ***

Movie review: Zanjeer, why remake an iconic film
Cast: Ram Charan, Priyanka Chopra, Prakash Raj, Mahie Gill, Sanjay Dutt, Atul Kulkarni

Director: Apoorva Lakhia

The Indian Express rating: * 1/2

This film brings with it a series of whys, the first being the biggest: why remake an iconic film which has never disappeared from view? Forty years ago, Prakash Mehra made his Zanjeer, with Amitabh Bachchan as Inspector Vijay Khanna, a cop with serious anger management issues, brought on by a murder he witnessed as a child, Jaya Bahaduri as a reluctant witness to a gang killing, Pran as the noble-hearted Pathan-ka-bachcha, the marvelously mannered Ajit as Bad Guy Teja, and Bindu as the bursting-out-of-her-sequinned-slinkiness Mona Darling. That 1973 Zanjeer turned into a superhit, and kickstarted Bachchan's rise and rise in Hindi cinema.

That 40-year-old flick is to be seen forever running on a loop on a movie channel or two. Despite its hamminess (Pran took the word 'ham' to sublime levels with his dire auburn wig-and kohl-eyed goonda-turned-good Sher Khan), and its quotient of melodrama, that Prakash Mehra film remains a zinger. It gave us the Bollywood hero with the longest legs, in all senses of the word, and a prototype plot -- cops vs robbers-- which never tires unless done badly.

And then you watch this new Zanjeer and you get started with the whys.

Implicit in all remakes is the idea that you are refreshing the film, both for those who may have seen the original, as well as for newbies ( in the screening I was at, I found someone who, gasp, hadn't seen the old one).

The filmmakers have been carefully calling it a "tribute", and they have added a couple of elements which weren't in the older film, but to me it was a neither here-nor-there thing: it's neither faithful remake nor campy, knowing tribute. It's just a poor copy. So why?

Salman Khan speaks great Marathi, says Riteish Deshmukh

Salman Khan speaks great Marathi, says Riteish Deshmukh

Praising Salman Khan for his command over Marathi language, actor-turned-producer Riteish Deshmukh says the superstar was keen on being a part of his Marathi venture Lai Bhaari.

Salman will be seen in a special appearance in Riteish's second Marathi production 'Lai Bhaari', which also marks the latter's debut in Marathi films as an actor.

"He (Salman) offered to be part of the film. He is a big star. He was gracious enough to tell me that I want to do a scene in the film," Riteish told PTI in an interview here.

"He (Salman) wanted to speak in Marathi as his mother is a Maharashtrian. He speaks great Marathi. We did a fun scene together. I am glad that he is part of the film than anything else," he said.

Excited about getting an opportunity to work with Salman, Riteish said, "I have worked with most of the actors. He was the only one I did not work with. To do a film with him, that too in debut Marathi film is special," he said.

Lai Bhaari is directed by national award winning Nishikant Kamat and co-produced by Riteish's banner Mumbai Film Company and Cinemantra Entertainment.

"It will release by the end of this year, say by December or January (next year). It is an action drama film. This genre is rarely attempted in Marathi cinema. We will try and do something nice with it and hope people like it," Riteish said.

After a successful stint as an actor, Riteish turned producer with Marathi film Balak Palak, which did brisk business at the box office.

Riteish, who has previously worked in hit adult comedies like Masti, Kya Kool Hain Hum, Kya Super Kool Hain Hum, will be returning to the genre with a sequel to Masti - titled Grand Masti.

"This is my fourth film in this space... I feel the genre is untapped, it is a genre that is fairly successful if done correctly. I am comfortable with any genre. If some actors are not comfortable in this space then it is not my issue, it is fair enough," he said.

"The film is targeted at certain audience. If we are making an adult film, we are keeping the children out," the actor said.

The film will see the trio- Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani and Riteish - reprising their roles from the first film.

"After nine years we have made a comeback and are doing a sequel to 'Masti'. It was a wonderful experience to work with each other. We have taken the film many miles ahead. We did not have to think of recreating the chemistry, we were like house on fire," Riteish said.

Directed by Indra Kumar, Grand Masti also stars Kainaat Arora, Bruna Abdullah, Karishma Tanna, Sonalee Kulkarni and Maryam Zakaria. It will hit the theatres on September 13.

Riteish feels if comic scenes are written well, it becomes easy for actors to tickle the funny bone of audience.

"I think any kind of comic sequence is as easy and as difficult as it is written. So, if it is written well then it becomes easy. Sometimes you find it difficult because the humour is not coming out," he added.
