No stopping for Chennai Express crosses Rs 150 cr mark

No stopping for 'Chennai Express', crosses Rs 150 cr mark

New Delhi: It seems there is no stopping for director Rohit Shetty's 'Chennai Express'. The film has crossed the Rs 150 crore mark quite easily. It has achieved the milestone within its first week of release. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweets, "#ChennaiExpress PP 6.75 cr, Fri 33.12 cr, Sat 28.05 cr, Sun 32.5 cr, Mon 12.62 cr, Tue 11.5 cr, Wed 12.56 cr, Thu 19.6 cr. Total: 156.7 cr."

Earlier, it was speculated that the release of 'Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara' may hamper the box-office collection of 'Chennai Express' but nothing similar happened at the ticket window. In fact, 'Chennai Express' registered a big jump in the business on Thursday, August 15.

Adarsh further says, "#ChennaiExpress Highest paid previews, Highest Day 1 [Fri], Highest Day 2 [Sat], Highest Day 3 [Sun], Fastest 100 cr and Highest Week 1."

It will be interesting to see how 'Chennai Express' performs after 'OUATIMD' gets more screens from today.
